MAWTT - Anything But a Card

 Hello... yes it's nearly Christmas,

but we've got a lovely challenge for you, in case you feel like getting crafty over the festive holiday!!

our lovely team leader Wendy has chosen a fab theme of

'Anything But a Card'

some examples might be.... a homemade... wreath, cake/s, sewing/embroidery, painting, knitting, crochet...
anything that takes your fancy... except a card!   ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've been doing a Cross Stitch for the past few months. Just fitting in a few rows here and there. Finally got it finished in time for Christmas.... it's a Ho Ho Ho Banner Kit by Dimensions. It looked a very simple design when I bought it, but soon realised that there are a lot of colour changes for shading. I love the finished effect though, and it was a real joy to stitch. The kit comes with felt backing and wire hanger. But I decided to frame it instead.

I am giving this as a prize:

My prize is a Christmas village set, but I reckon you could use this for an Easter scene or for wedding, christenings, new home etc. A very flexible set of dies.

Please do pop over to our main site at MAWTT for more details... and there you can see the rest of the Team's awesome creations and a list of all the prizes that you could win!! I hope you can join us for this fun challenge...

Gosh, I can't believe that 2017 is nearly over. It honestly doesn't seem five minutes since last Christmas. Its been quite a stressful year for me, as mum isn't too well, and so crafting and blogging have been on the back burner. All I seem able to make at the moment is the CraftsUPrint decoupage kits. So I will probably be making more of them in the new year. I do enjoy making them though.

My lovely daughter is coming over to stay for a few days tomorrow. We are hoping mum will stay reasonably well over Christmas. I'm just looking forward to reading, doing some genealogy and enjoying the TV. Can't wait for Victoria and Call the Midwife!

I would like to thank you all for being such devoted followers and commenting. I know I am not around very much, but I will try and keep in touch. Looking forward to seeing all your creations for this challenge! ;-))

Hope you all have a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas!
Take care

MAWTT - Christmas Animals

Hello and Good Morning! it's the turn of Team B again over at

and our lovely Jennie L has chosen a fab theme of .....

'Christmas Animals'

I've made another CraftsUPrint Card..... it's a Kit called The Cutest Christmas Dog... and I think he's the sweetest little pup. The card was meant to be circular with a stand. But I decided to put the design onto a 6 inch card blank. I covered the card blank in red card as I thought it would tie in with his hat. Lots of decoupage on the flowers and bells, but it doesn't show up very well in the photo. I added pearls to the bells and gems to the bows. To finish, I added lots of sparkle to the fur trims on his hat, and also to the flowers.

Mini Kit - The Cutest Christmas Dog - Monique's Creations

Please do pop over to our main site at MAWTT for more details, and there you can see the rest of the Team's very cute Christmas Animal creations!! I hope you can join us for this fun challenge...

It's been a strange month for me. I had a bad fall a couple of weeks ago. The Stairlift got stuck halfway down, with the fold down runner across the hallway. I went to phone the engineer, then came out of my room, forgetting about the runner, tripped over it, and went flying, and twisted as I landed. I went to A & E to get checked out and thankfully no bones broken. I've sprained my upper left arm and my lower right back. So it's been nightmare getting a comfortable position to sleep in. I had to sleep bolt upright for a week. Now I can sleep on one side. Things are improving slowly. I've got a bit of movement in my left arm now,  but think it will take a while to come up to strength. I'm glad that I'm right handed. I can do a bit of decoupage now!
I'm looking forward to catching up with you all! ๐Ÿ˜‰

MAWTT - Add a Charm or Tag

Hello... Good Morning! I'm pleased to be back once again with Team B at

and our lovely Hazel has chosen a fab theme of .....

'Add a Charm or Tag'

I've made a card for my friend's son and his fiancee as they have just moved into a new home called Rose Cottage. I thought this kit from CraftsUPrint was quite fitting..... I've added a Good Luck Sentiment from LOTV and used a blank LOTV Tag to make the New Home one.

I've added a Lucky Four Leaf Clover Charm (top left)

Sorry about the rubbish photos.  I couldn't get any decent light when I took them, I think it was during Storm Ophelia.
I hope you can see the decoupage in photo below...

Please do pop over to our main site at MAWTT for more details, and there you can see the rest of the Team's Charming and Taggy creations!! I hope you can join us for this fun challenge!!

MAWTT - Geometric Shapes

Hello... I'm back with Team B at

and our lovely Janice has chosen a fab theme of .....

'Geometric Shapes'

I decided to have a go at a Pop up card. My first attempt went in the bin. On this second attempt, the pop up bit isn't perfect but at least it works. You really do have to keep everything geometric when making the pop up part, otherwise it doesn't open!! I am pleased with it, but wish I'd had time to have another go!!!

Here is the You Tube video that I used to make the pop up part of this card:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=870JPSsUmc0

I used Origami Papers to make the pop up flowers. The circular backing paper was freebie from Bearly Mine Designs long time ago.

Please do pop over to our main site at MAWTT for more details, and there you can see the rest of the Team's wonderfully geometric creations!! I hope you can join us for this fun challenge...

I can't believe it's October in few days time! the weather is very changeable at the moment. I saw about a dozen Red Admiral Butterflies the other day on the Elderflower Bush opposite. It seemed really strange seeing so many, as usually you see only one, or two at most.  It was lovely weather last weekend and so mum and I sat in the garden for a while. You have to make the most of the fine weather! ;-)

I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs.

MAWTT - Add a Number

Hello and Good Morning! it's the turn of Team B again at

and our lovely Judith has chosen a fab theme of .....

'Add a Number'

I've used a lovely Hunkydory Craft Kit and just added the number 3.

I recently ordered a Christmas Card Kit from Hunkydorycrafts and got a lovely surprise when I opened the package and found another free kit inside to celebrate their Anniversary. So I used the free kit to make the above card. I chose the card with the bunting on as background, and chose the other two toppers. I die cut the 3 out of matching card in the kit. Although it was a very simple card to make, I love how it came out.

Please do pop over to our main site at MAWTT for more details, and there you can see the rest of the Team's wonderful 'numbered' creations!! I hope you can join us for this fortnight's challenge...

I hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend in the UK? The weather was glorious here. My darling daughter came over to stay with us for the Sunday and Monday. She cooked mum and I some lovely Roast Dinners and I had a relaxing couple of days with some 'me' time. I did some crafting and genealogy. It was just what I needed, as mum hasn't been too well of late. I don't know where the time goes nowadays. I can't believe we are in September tomorrow!! Yikes. How did that creep up on me! I love Autumn though!
Will catch up with you soon! ๐Ÿ˜‰

MAWTT - Things That Fly

Hello... Good Morning! I'm pleased to be back once again with Team B at

and our lovely Jessie has chosen a fab theme of .....

'Things That Fly'

so birds, kites, hot air balloons, planes, insects - whatever takes your (flight of) fancy :)

I've made a card for a friend's birthday that has butterflies on.....

CraftsUPrint - Flapper Rose Card with Decoupage - Julie Hutchings

I used a CraftsUPrint Decoupage Kit by Julie Hutchings. I scaled down the sheets to 74% when I printed them out, so that the main topper would fit on a 6 inch card. But if you do this then you have to remember to scale down the decoupage sheet also, to keep the images at the same size. I printed it onto semi glossy photo paper and love how it came out. I added some Star Dust Stickles and some Pearls to finish off.

Please do pop over to our main site at MAWTT for more details, and there you can see the rest of the Team's wonderful high flying creations!! I hope you can join us for this fun challenge...

Talking of things that fly!!!  Time is one of them.... I can't believe it's August !!! where is the time going this year!!

MAWTT - Embossing Wet and/or Dry

Hello... Good Morning! I'm pleased to be back once again with Team B at

and I am hosting a challenge of

Embossing Wet and/or Dry

I love all types of embossing - it always adds interest and elegance to our creations...
so I've made two cards - one using dry embossing and the second card using frantage....

Sentiment: Anna Marie Designs
Flower: Bo Bunny
Embossing Folder: Sizzix - I think? not sure of name

The gorgeous image for second card is LOTV Printout Sheet and I've coloured over her dress and hat in the image, as I wanted to change tone slightly to blend in with the papers. Papers are Wild Rose Studio Antique Library.

Here's a close up of the frantage.

I hope you can join us for this fortnight's challenge - if you pop over to our main site at MAWTT then you can see the Design Teams wonderful inspiration!

and there is a PRIZE too!!

here's what you could win!!

PRIZE!!

MAWTT - Butterflies

Hello... Good Morning! I'm pleased to be back once again with Team B at

and our lovely team leader Wendy is hosting a fab challenge of

๐Ÿฆ‹ 'Butterflies' ๐Ÿฆ‹
Wendy is kindly giving a prize set of John Lockwood's Stamps this month for the top winner, to celebrate her upcoming birthday!

PRIZE!!

Time has been short again this month, and so I have chosen to make this card using a beautiful kit from CraftsUPrint. This is a card for my mum to give my daughter for her birthday next week. My daughter doesn't look on my blog, so know I am ok to show it! She loves Art Deco and my mum wanted me to make a card with flowers on... so this fits the brief perfectly. I've printed it onto thick photo paper, then stuck it onto a 8 x 8 blank card and cut around. That way it is nice and sturdy. I really enjoyed doing the decoupage and love how it came out! :-)

I hope you can pop over to our main site at MAWTT  for more details, and to see the rest of the Team's fab flutterby creations!! I hope you can join us for this fortnight's challenge... I'm really looking forward to seeing your entries... all those butterflies will be so beautiful !!

Our garden is looking lovely this year.. it's not very well tended, but somehow the plants keep on coming up each year and flowering! :-)
I'm typing this at the weekend and have just been sitting out and enjoying some sunshine. It was so peaceful and the blackbird was singing and the bees were buzzing... finally it feels like Summer!! but I'm scheduling... this so by Thursday morning it might be cold and wet!! but hope not!!
Thanks for all your lovely comments, I really do appreciate them!
Will catch up with you soon!

MAWTT - Birds and/or Feathers

Hello... Good Morning! I'm pleased to be back once again with Team B at

and our lovely Jackie is hosting a fab challenge of

Birds and/or Feathers

this theme is perfect for the time of year, as you can include all those Easter Chicks!!
or if you want to make an early start on those Christmas Cards, then why not Penguins? ;-)

A very simple card as I'm so short on time. I've used a lovely pre-coloured image from a LOTV Art Pad and teamed it with some Wild Rose Studio Paper Antique Library. Just added some black borders to add interest. Finally, added some golden gems. Sentiment was freebie in magazine.

I hope you can pop over to our main site at MAWTT and see the rest of the Team's birdy/feathery creations!! I hope you can join us for this fortnight's challenge.

I can't believe how long it is since I last posted!! My life is very hectic at the moment - I seem to be going through a very rough patch, and I get one thing sorted and something else pops up.....but won't moan too much on my blog, as this is supposed to be my Haven after all !!! ;-)
I'm hoping that things will improve for me soon!

I'm looking forward to Easter. I really hope my mum stays well and we can enjoy watching our Dvd Programmes and scoffing our Chocolate Eggs!!

I'm looking forward to catching up with you all!
Wishing you all a Peaceful and Happy Easter!!!

MAWTT - For a Man

Hello... Good Morning! I'm pleased to be back once again with Team B at

our lovely Beckie is hosting the challenge this week and has chosen a theme of:

'For a Man'

I love doing male cards. I've made a Birthday card for my daughter's partner. He loves classic cars and so chose this fab vintage topper from Cardmaker's Delight. I've kept things very simple as he likes 'Less is More' style cards and clean lines. The sentiment is from Anna Marie Designs. The paper is Basic Grey - Little Black Dress.

For more details, do pop over to our main site at MAWTT and you can see the rest of the Team's male themed creations!! I do hope you can join us for this fortnight's challenge... I'm looking forward to seeing your entries!

Thanks for all your lovely comments, I really do appreciate them!!

MAWTT - Swirls and/or Curls

First of all a Very Happy New Year to everyone!!!
I know I'm a bit late, but would like to wish you all the best for 2017!
I hope it's a good year for us all.....

It's the turn of Team B over at

and our lovely Hazel is hosting a challenge of

' Swirls and/or Curls'

I think you will have guessed... that we would like your creation to have Swirls and/or Curls!

I've used a lovely vintage topper with some vintage paper. Added lots of silver stickles around the edges.... and some Swirls and Curls.... and Pearls !! My darling daughter bought me a Bosch Glue Pen for Christmas - it's great for sticking on flowers and embellishments... so quick and easy to use... just what I need right now! :-)

I hope you can pop over to our main site at MAWTT for more details and there you can see the rest of the Team's gorgeous Swirly and Curly creations!!

It took me a while to make this card, but I got there in the end... I enjoyed making it, and I'm happy with it !!

I can't believe we're in the middle of January already! I know it's cold, wet and miserable, but it's so nice to see it getting bit lighter in the evenings!!  Roll on Spring eh! I'm hoping a lot of my aches and pains will lessen when the warmer weather arrives.

Love and hugs
