MAWTT - 'Use Shrink Plastic'

Good Morning! Hope you are all well and Big Hugs to those who are not ... it's time for a brand new challenge over at

and this week the lovely Shell is our hostess and she has chosen the very exciting theme this week of ....

'Use Shrink Plastic'

Now please don't be scared!! Lots of fun to be had with this theme... and if like me your first attempt with Shrink Plastic was/is a disaster... then try, try again.... Winking smile

I have had a go with a few different things and some didn't work out... but I am pleased with what I managed to make in the end...

First I had a go at some simple Flowers using Marianne D Dies... really easy peasy... just cut out the flower shapes in Shrink Plastic

Colour them with Promarkers or Copics .... the colours will come out much stronger as the flowers shrink....

Shrink them with Heat Gun... Top Tip.... keep the gun moving  because if you stay in one place you could end up burning a hole in your plastic which is what I did first attempt!!   when you heat they will shrivel up but don't panic.... carry on heating and they will unfurl... and then gently help them to flatten out or shape them as desired... I used a cocktail stick to ease them into shape....obviously be careful not to burn yourself as things get very hot!!

and these are the shrunken and shaped flowers... they are nice to decorate a box...

These are Party Favour Boxes and I've decorated them with papers and added the flowers with some pearls.... they are going to be gift boxes for jewellery pressies ....

Next I had a go with an image....

I love Paddington... so found a Colouring Book image of him online and printed him out about 10cm height on paper.... Then I placed the Shrinkle Paper over the image (frosted side up) and drew over Paddington with Waterproof Line Marker. Then coloured him in with Promarkers.... punched a hole....

and then for the shrinking... again important to keep the gun moving and not too hot... I used Low Setting on Heat Gun... it will curl up and then straighten out again... you might have to flatten it out a bit...

So here are the two finished Paddington Key Rings.... they are really dinky and cute!

Hope this inspires you to have a go at our fun challenge!

We are sponsored this week by the wonderful Di's Digis

Hope you can pop on over to MAWTT for more details of the Challenge and to see my Teamies wonderful creations... they are fab this week!

I'm going to enter these into:

All these projects are gorgeous Sue. Especially those boxes. I gave up with my shrink plastic and gave it all away when we moved here last October. But I think I should have waited as my heat gun broke and my new one is so much better. It has more range of heat settings.
