Handbags....

A quick post to show you my first attempt at making some Handbag Cards... I've been meaning to have a go at these handbags for a long time... ever since I saw the beautiful one that Jules made last year... here. Then Katina made a gorgeous one a few weeks ago.. here. The free template is available from Crafts by Carolyn.

I think they are definitely one of those 'makes' that you get better at with practice... this was my 3rd attempt!! As you can probably see...  it's still a bit rough around the edges on the handle !! :-(
The paper is from Shery K Designs and is Brown and Lime. I have changed the contrast to make the brown into black... They are gorgeous papers and are on sale at the moment.... they remind me of those Chocolate Lime sweeties!! Mmm.... LOL

The one below is a brown one that I made... embossed all over to look like leather...

My mum and daughter really loved them... and there are so many variations you could make... I could go on forever just making these.... LOL ... well maybe not... or I would be dreaming about them!!  :-)

Well the sun has been shining here all day but I just can't get warm!!! I keep turning my fire up and I'm still cold... so I am going to get another cup of my lovely Ceylon Tea now....
I hope you are all well and  having a good day!
Love and hugs

Love these Sue, especially the leather effect one. Think I'll have to check out the links you've given and give this a go. Today has been a quiet day here, was out in the garden having a tidy after all the wind, was going to cut the grass, but Mr Lawn mower wouldn't play ball! Then I had to get my car from garage as it needed new brake pads etc. so lots of spends and nothing to show for it! Jx

These are brilliant Sue! Love the flowered one although I hate chocolate and lime sweets almost as bad as blackcurrant and liquorice - yuck! Love the leather effect on the second, it looks so real! Did you enjoy Broadchurch? Did you guess right, I did much to my husband's surprise! Hugs Susan x

WOW - these handbag cards are just great! If the leather one had been a real bag I would have bought it straight away! I love bags, don't know how many I've got - but too many according to my hubby:)

Hello Hunny I'm back in blogland, it's ages since I've been around my friends to comment, thank goodness you are all still there!!
I love all your cards that I've missed Sue, these handbags are super ( treated myself to a new handbag in the duty free at stansted) and the green and lime paper is just gorgeous!
Hope you have been well and that the promise of warmer weather is cheering you up! It reached 42 degrees on my holiday - a litle too warm even for me!!!

Hi Sue

These cards are very addictive .. .. I dread to think how many I have made!!! It is surprising how different they can look.

Love your colour choices for the first one and the embossing for the second is brilliant. I never even thought of that!!!

Thank you for the inspiration and for the mention. You are very kind.

Hope you are having a good week.

Love Jules xx

Wonderful bags Sue!
I am not really into cards now as you've seen. May be a vintage one for the swap this week.
