MAWTT - 'Seeing Red'

Morning... hope you are all well this Thursday morning and Big Hugs to those who are not ... We have a new Challenge over at ...

Moving Along With The Times

... and this week it is the lovely Laurie who is hosting and she has chosen the fab theme of....

'Seeing Red'

So we want to see your creations using Red... it doesn't have to be a card... as long as we can see that you have followed the red theme...

We are sponsored this week by The Crafty Pad who gave us this sweet image and some gorgeous sentiments to use...

This little chappie is called 'Christmas Ted Posting Letter' and the Sentiment is from a set called 'Christmas Sentiment Tickets'....

With not feeling well... I've gone for a CAS card this week... I cut a strip of the bottom of Kraft Card Blank and used it as centre panel... the scrummy paper is from My Mind's Eye - 'Winter Wonderland' pad. I've used some wavy scissors to go down the sides and on the bottom of the panel to create a bit of texture... don't know why but this card was a real pain to photograph... and I'm still not happy with these photos... but I've taken so many and I'm really sick of tweaking them... so they will have to be ok LOL...

I've coloured this cute little ted with Promarkers and added some extra snowflakes with Viva Pearl 'White' Pen. Also added Star Dust Stickles for some snow and Christmassy Sparkle...

Hope you can hop on over to MAWTT for more details of the Challenge and to see my Teamies gorgeous creations... and can't wait to see all your fab entries!

Ooh Blogger is being a right pain for this post... what I type in Draft is not coming out correct in preview... it's changing the size of font and leaving gaps... I've had to type one paragraph in Largest Font for it to come out at normal size!! Arrggh... it drives me nutty... LOL

Did you see the first episode of The Paradise?  I really enjoyed it - but wasn't too keen on Parade's End  ... Benedict Cucumberpatch just isn't my cup of tea!!  Loving Downton but I'm SO jealous of Mary! LOL - can't wait for the next episode - also thought WDYTYA was fascinating with Bill Roache - and roll on Strictly too - ah I'm in TV Heaven... !!!

Thanks for all your lovely comments... I really do appreciate you taking the time out to visit! Winking smile

I had trouble photographing this... need to get my light box out now that the nights are drawing in... but hope you can see the glitter on the lovely Memory Box 'Frostyville' Border in the above photo.... it looks lovely and twinkly in real life!

I've coloured her with Promarkers and added Red Stickles to necklace and top of her dress... I've also used a Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder... as she is a Snow Angel ... I thought I would give her a Snowstorm!! The image is mounted on Nestie...

I've chosen an image from Crafts and Me called 'Heart in my Hand Melody' and she really does look prim and proper... but isn't she a sweetie! The gorgeous paper is V & A Hanoverian Stack that my daughter bought a couple of years ago... it's so scrummy that I tend to just take it out and stroke it... LOL but thought the paper was perfect for this challenge and to go with the lovely Melody!!

The gorgeous Lace and Carnations are from Wild Orchid Crafts....the Handbag Charm and MeiFlower Pearls and little Gems on sentiment are from My Crafty Heart... Sentiment was freebie with magazine...

I was not a happy bunny! Sad smile LOL
Ah well... not long until the weekend... looking forward to Downton again!

MAWTT - 'Use Shrink Plastic'

Good Morning! Hope you are all well and Big Hugs to those who are not ... it's time for a brand new challenge over at

and this week the lovely Shell is our hostess and she has chosen the very exciting theme this week of ....

'Use Shrink Plastic'

Now please don't be scared!! Lots of fun to be had with this theme... and if like me your first attempt with Shrink Plastic was/is a disaster... then try, try again.... Winking smile

I have had a go with a few different things and some didn't work out... but I am pleased with what I managed to make in the end...

First I had a go at some simple Flowers using Marianne D Dies... really easy peasy... just cut out the flower shapes in Shrink Plastic

Colour them with Promarkers or Copics .... the colours will come out much stronger as the flowers shrink....

Shrink them with Heat Gun... Top Tip.... keep the gun moving  because if you stay in one place you could end up burning a hole in your plastic which is what I did first attempt!!   when you heat they will shrivel up but don't panic.... carry on heating and they will unfurl... and then gently help them to flatten out or shape them as desired... I used a cocktail stick to ease them into shape....obviously be careful not to burn yourself as things get very hot!!

and these are the shrunken and shaped flowers... they are nice to decorate a box...

These are Party Favour Boxes and I've decorated them with papers and added the flowers with some pearls.... they are going to be gift boxes for jewellery pressies ....

Next I had a go with an image....

I love Paddington... so found a Colouring Book image of him online and printed him out about 10cm height on paper.... Then I placed the Shrinkle Paper over the image (frosted side up) and drew over Paddington with Waterproof Line Marker. Then coloured him in with Promarkers.... punched a hole....

and then for the shrinking... again important to keep the gun moving and not too hot... I used Low Setting on Heat Gun... it will curl up and then straighten out again... you might have to flatten it out a bit...

So here are the two finished Paddington Key Rings.... they are really dinky and cute!

Hope this inspires you to have a go at our fun challenge!

We are sponsored this week by the wonderful Di's Digis

Hope you can pop on over to MAWTT for more details of the Challenge and to see my Teamies wonderful creations... they are fab this week!

I'm going to enter these into:

Heck of a Challenge - 'Anything Goes' ends 30th September 2012

Not long until Weekend now...

A Touch of Class.....

Hello... hope you are all well.... huge hugs to those who are not ... I thought I'd show you the card that I made for Alessandra's Birthday...  this lovely lady is from Crafts and Me and is called 'Call Girl' by Hannah Lynn... Ooh you know I never realised what the image was called when I made this card... but anyway... I think my girl has long given up her escort job... she is now a happily married Personal Assistant and has two children and lives in Bowdon, Cheshire..... Winking smile

PAPERS: Prima - 'Almanac
FLOWER (Large): Prima Rose Trim - 'Natural
GEMS: Hero Arts - 'Sunshine Mixed Accents
STICKLES: Glitz - 'Tiara'

all the above are available from My Crafty Heart...

The small flower is Prima 'Tasha' - Caramel and is from Joanna Sheen. I won a voucher over at Delightful Challenges a couple of weeks ago and so I chose these as part of my prize!

I've used Glitz Tiara Stickles all around the edges of the inner papers... it's a gorgeous minky colour and  it sparkles like crazy!!

The sentiment is a tag from the Prima Almanac papers and I have stamped Happy Birthday onto it...

I've coloured her with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and I've tried a different type of blending with this image... it doesn't have as much depth... but I quite like the softness of it and so might have another go... maybe I will improve... I've added a few specks of the Tiara glitter to her eyes.. so they sparkle!! looks pretty in real life... I'm really loving these Hannah Lynn images... so wonderful to colour....

Downton Abbey is back next Sunday.... can't wait... and Strictly Come Dancing is back Saturday... Yay!! just love all the costumes and Razzamatazz... just the thing to cheer you up as the nights are drawing in....

The weather is back to dull and showers here in Manchester... perfect for staying in cosy and crafting!
Thanks for all your lovely comments!
