Moving Along With The Times (DT Card) - Challenge 125 - 'Let it Snow'

Happy Thursday! Hope you are all keeping well. Time for another Challenge over at

This week the lovely Laurie is our hostess and she has chosen the fab theme of .....

'Let It Snow'

We are sponsored this week by Digi My World who have very kindly given us some gorgeous images to play with.

Also they are generously offering the winner a prize of a $10 Voucher to spend in their Store.

These two lovely images are from a set of six stamps called 'Winter Kids' and they are perfect for creating a lovely winter scene.

I flipped the 'boy with snowman' image to fit the scene and I have digitally coloured the blue-grey areas and added a texture. When I think back to my childhood in the Sixties, we seemed to have snow quite often back then, and we always had gorgeous fair isle jumpers and hats. So thought I would do some snowflake borders on the clothes digitally to try and replicate that. I've done some decoupage but it doesn't show up very well in the photos. I printed out three of each image and picked out bits to layer up. The border and bobble on hats and part of snowman/snowball.

I made the background paper and border so that it all matched.  I've added some diamond stickles glitter to the snow on sky background but again it doesn't show up in photos! The Sentiment is from Pink Petticoat. I tried adding more bellies but didn't likey. I think the images kinda hold their own on this one.

Colouring:-
(Copics)
Skin: E00, E02
Greens: G82, G85
Reds: R42, R49 and Spectrum Noir No. 1
Browns: E24, E53
Snowman/Snowball: Spectrum Noir 'Cool Shadow'

I always remember one Winter's day in the 60s when it snowed heavily.  By the time I got home from Primary School it was dark. My brother had built a 'state of the art' sledge which was amazing and I begged him to let me have a go on it.  My brother pulled me on the sledge around the roads where we lived and I felt like I was in Austria. it was really magical, freshly falling snow and all glistening in the lamplight.  Then back indoors and chill blains!! Ooh didn't it hurt when your feet started to warm up !!! even though I had two pairs of socks and wellies!! LOL

Hope all this talk of SNOW has put you in the mood to make a Winter Wonderland of a card for the Challenge. Really looking forward to seeing all your gorgeous creations!

Don't forget to pop on over to MAWTT Website for more details of the challenge and to take a look at the rest of the team's creations - they are all awesome!!

Hi Sue,
Oooh! Yes in those days any ice or snow was absolutely magical and I remember the pain when our feet warmed up! I remember our Primary school payground being like an ice rink and us all having a lovely time till the Caretaker came out with his grit :( ooh, he wasn't popular. This card brings back such happy memories - great (and very clever) background Sue and fabby colouring of this little twoseome! Hugs, Teresa x

Gorgeous card Sue your colouring is spot on and aren't you clever digitally colouring - I wouldn't know where to start!! Your story of your childhood takes me back, I grew up in Canada and the USA, when it snowed in Canada we once got snowed in our house for 3 days yuck. The dog once licked the drain pipe and his tongue froze to it. I got locked out for 15 minutes and all my tears and runny nose froze to my face!! So my memories aren't as nice as yours!! Have a great weekend xx

I love these childhood memories you are sharing with us. Everything was so magical when we were children... :)
We have no snow here yet. In fact it´s warmer than in 200 years. I miss the snow very much. Today it´s rainy and the sky is grey :(
Have a great day!
