By The Light of the Ivory Moon

Well the sun is struggling to get through here today but is just managing! Thanks for all your lovely comments and a warm welcome to new Followers. I wanted to do a magical, fairy card and so chose this digital image called 'Twilight Lily Fae' from Crafts and Me Stamps. I love orange/pinky tones and also pastel blue. Hope they work ok together? Please zoom in and have a look. I found it difficult to photograph but chose this one because it's caught the lovely glitter on the dress and wings!!!

The colouring is Promarkers:

Dress: Pastel Blue, Cornflower, Sakura Glitter pen for tassels
Hair: Tan, Cinnamon and Copic E33/E35
Skin: Almond, Blush
Wings: Blossom, Rose Pink, Stardust Stickle
Moon: Ivory and Primrose
Lamp: Coloured digitally on Seashore Software

The gorgeous paper is from my DCWV Once Upon a Time Stack and it has taken me a while to start using it. It's SO beautiful ... I didn't want to break into it.

Gorgeous Gardenia flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Ribbons, hearts and charms are from stash. Lovely sentiment is from the 'dreamy sentiments' set at Lili of The Valley

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenges:-

Glastonbury Rocks!

I had a lot of fun making this card! I put on some Jimi Hendrix and Joni Mitchell for inspiration! I've combined two main stamps. "Dusty the Camper Van" is a digi stamp from Squidgi Digi. And the rocker digi stamp is called "Groove Dude" from Kenny K. I still can't get it fixed in my head that it's Kenny K!! I keep googling a certain well-known saxaphone player by mistake, duh!

I distressed the edges of papers. The background flower paper is from Trimcraft Smirk Love and Friendship stack.  Not sure if it shows up in photo but it is lovely and glittery!! I drew the backdrop hill and tree on computer digitally. Hand drew some apples, coloured with Crayola Pencils (blush!!!) I don't have any Prismacolour ones yet !!! then put some glossy accents on to make them shiny.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and coloured with Pastel Blue Promarker and Stardust Stickled. The bee, frog, bow and gems are from stash. The butterflies are cut out from another paper in the same stack. The Blue Tit is a digital image from Stitchy Bear Stamps which is a gorgeous image and so I am not completely happy with it being so small as it is not shown off to it's full advantage! But I didn't want a massive three foot Blue Tit sat in the apple tree !!!! rofl.....  I will have to do another card with the poor little thing as centre stage!!!

The fab "Flower Power" Bottle Capz are by Dovecraft, and are Retro Selection. I tried different sentiments and they all seemed to ruin the scene, man! so I have left it open so you could maybe write inside - You Rock My World! or something similar. When I was cutting out Dusty the Camper Van I had a slight mishap with the wing mirror!! So you will have to imagine that a Ford Fiesta clipped it while overtaking en route to festival !!

I have also decorated the inside with papers from the Smirk stack:

I apologise for drawing on the Smirk faces. They are probably not supposed to be drawn on! but I might give this card to my daughter for one of her friends and she insists on all faces having eyes, nose and mouth!!! No Tildas or Edwins for her then! tee hee.

Colouring for Dusty The Camper Van and Groove Dude:
Forest Green, Pastel Blue, Cornflower, Cool Grey 5, Yellow Promarkers and Copic R46
Stardust Stickle

Moving Along With The Times has a Challenge for a card with at least 'Two B's' on it. So here goes with the B List - bee, butterflies, bottle capz, blue tit/bird, buttons, bow, blooms.

Craft Us Crazy has a Challenge 'Use Your Favourite Embellishment(s) and/or Something New' - I have used my favourite Stardust Stickle and gems and the new things are the digi images, backing paper and bottle capz.

Piece of Cake!

Hello all, glad to be back in the land of blog! The family and I have all had awful virus which has laid us really low for last couple of weeks. It's awful when you all get ill at once. All I can say is thank goodness for Tesco Home Delivery service which brought in emergency supplies of Tissues, Sudafed, Throat Pastels, Paracetemol etc. LOL. Ah well, getting back into the swing of things and thought I'd start with a fun card. Moving Along With The Times has a Challenge this week called "Have Some Cake!"

This gorgeous Cupcake Stamp is from a set called 'Piece of Cake' by Dovecraft. It was part of the fab Candy I won last week in the 'Name the Camper Van' competition held by Lisa Jane. I chose the name Dusty for the Camper Van as it had long lashes like Dusty Springfield and it just seemed to suit her. It was a lovely surprise to win anyway. The gorgeous camper van digital image was drawn by Lisa Jane's very talented daughter, Bethany Jane and you can see it and other fabulous digital images for sale at her new website Squidgi Digi, so be sure to check them out!!

I've coloured the cupcake with Promarker Pastel Blue, Rose Pink and Blossom. Used Stardust Stickles and made some sprinkles to match. The image is mounted on Scalloped Nestabilities. As Hanna & Friends have a Challenge for Card without Design Paper, I have made paper myself on Corel Painter 11 Software, it's my new toy while I have been ill !!! very satisfying to spray paint a blank sheet of paper with the different brush effects - for these I used Fur Effect with Dark Pink and on the other I used Pink Fairy Dust and then Shattered Effect over top. On top is embossed white card with Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder.

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Challenge No. 110 - 'Embossing' ends 10th May 2011
Hanna & Friends - Challenge No. 93 - 'Card Without Design Paper' ends 11th May 2011
Moving Along with the Times - Challenge No. 97 - 'Have Some Cake' ends 11th May 2011
Totally PaperCrafts - Challenge No.  65 - 'One image, 2 papers, 3 embellies' ends 12th May 2011
My Time To Craft - Challenge 140 - 'Scallops' ends 16th May 2011
Divas by Design - Challenge No. 1 - 'Anything Goes'  ends 17th May 2011
CES - Challenge No. 35 - 'Favourite Colour Combo' ends 13th May 2011
Creative Inspirations - Challenge 59  - 'Glitzy & Bling' ends 14th May 2011
By the Cute & Girly - 'Anything Goes' - until end of May 2011

I went to see the stage show Mamma Mia on Saturday and it was fabulous - all the audience were on their feet clapping and singing along, so was great atmosphere! But I have all the Abba tunes on my brain now !!! LOL - I was surprised that I remembered all the lyrics, but they all came flooding back! Happy Memories!!!

P.S. I think I may have completely misunderstood the 'Card Without Design Paper' Challenge!!! Now I'm thinking they wanted alternatives to backing papers!!!

It's a Girl Thing!

Good Friday! I hope you have managed to catch some of the gorgeous weather. This is a very quick card that I made last night for my daughter who has been ill all this week. She is on the mend, but thought a card might cheer her up! The papers are Papermania Verde Paper Pack. The sentiment is from 'It's a Girl Thing' Collection that I won as part of prize from Stitchy Bear Stamps. I have to say it has been one of those cards that is difficult to photograph. Maybe it's the delicate pastels with the dark paper?

I also bought this digital stamp, called 'Alice' by Sylvie's Designs from Stitchy Bear Stamps as I thought it was gorgeous and it is so 1950s. This was my second attempt at colouring her. The first was disastrous. I coloured it all in nicely and just needed to do her lippy! I got my fine brush Copic R46 pen out and began but my hand slipped, grrr..... aagghhh, and she got lipstick on her teeth. So I decided to try and whiten her teeth. I did the worst thing possible and panicked. Grabbed my White Souffle Sakura Gel Pen to restore her dentures and shock horror, I'd grabbed my Glitter Pen by mistake!!!! So then she looked like she had a silver tooth glistening, which might be quite cool but I couldn't live with it - poor girl looked manic! So I started again! Looking back it was quite funny!

'Alice' - Sylvie's Designs

Colouring: Promarkers by name, Copics by No.

Skin: E00 and R20
Hair: Primrose and Clear Star Glitter Pen
Chaise Longue: Meadow Green and Apple
Dress: Primrose, Lemon and Clear Star Glitter Pen
Shoes: Lemon
Phone: Apple
Lipstick: R46

The other sentiment I made on computer using one of my favourite fonts 'Sixties' and in the corner there is a lucky black cat charm. I made the bow from scrap of ribbon. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and coloured with Primrose and Lemon.

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenges:-

Scrap Creations - 'Digital Images' (ends 25th April 2011)
ABC Challenge - 'S is for Sparkle' (ends 26th April 2011)
Sir Stampalot - 'Ladies and Fashion' (ends 27th April 2011)
Digi Doodle - Challenge 55 - 'Glitter & Glitz' (ends 27th April 2011)
By the Cute & Girly - 'Cute and Girly' (April monthly Challenge)

Finally, may I wish you all a very Happy Easter and holiday. Hope it's a peaceful and relaxing one!

Divas by Design

Exciting News! A new Challenge Blog called Divas by Design begins on 4th May. It will be bi-weekly, set every other Wednesday. It looks like great fun and you can enter any type of project, using rubber stamps, digi stamps or no stamps! So it means you can enter altered items, scrapbooking, ATC's etc. Sounds like fun eh?

Not only that but they are looking for 5 new DT Members! but it ends 20th April, so you would need to get in quickly! I thought I would have a go at this because I would love to be a DT Member and this sounds perfect for me because they are splitting the team into two and so each DT Member would be expected to produce one piece of work every 4 weeks and comment on challenge entries according to a set rota.

To celebrate their new launch, they also have some wonderful Candy on offer!  If you are interested in Candy or the DT position then click this link Blog Candy and A DT Callllllll

I thought I would have a go at the DT position as it sounds right up my street!

Here are 3 of my favourite pieces of work: If you click on caption it will take you to the original post.

Happy Birthday!
