My Time to Craft GDT - Sympathy

Hello all... it's Saturday again and so time for another of my GDT challenges over at

and this week's theme is

'Sympathy'

This is one type of card that I don't enjoy making.... but I do try to keep in a supply of them in case they are needed....

I  think this Pink Petticoat Image and Bearly Mine Design Paper work really well together for Sympathy/Condolence Cards. The digital paper was a freebie ages ago.... the original is actually green which is lovely and works well, but I fancied a change for this card and so have altered the tone to purple with imaging software.  I like to add a few gems or a butterfly to signify hope and eventually brighter times ahead...

Paper: Bearly Mine Designs
Punch: Martha Stewart - 'Royal Butterfly'
Gems: Stash

Hope you can pop over to My Time To Craft and see the rest of the teamies wonderful creations!

Sorry my last post ended a bit abruptly... it was scheduled and I usually add a bit of chit chat on Wednesday evening but I got a fever of 102F and felt awful. My tooth had flared up again, but also my chest... so didn't know whether to go to the doctor or the dentist!! ROFL..... decided on the doctor and now have some antibiotics and steroids so feeling a bit better now.

On the way back from the doctor's on Thursday, it was such a beautiful day! Although I didn't feel very well I really needed cheering up.... so Mum and I stopped off at the lane near the meadows....  isn't it a lovely place... we are so lucky to live near here.

it's a very short walk to the Bluebell Woods... lots of birds singing...

it was lovely and sunny and there is a bench nearby to sit and relax. We saw two very friendly doggies going walkies... A lovely Spinoni with gorgeous silky wheat-coloured coat, and a very bouncy little Spaniel. They were both adorable!

Glad we went our little walk yesterday as today (Friday) has been non-stop rain all day!!

Hope the weather brightens up for everyone soon! I'm hoping to do a bit of crafting this weekend and also read some of my crafting and history magazines... I have a few unopened yet! terrible I know but will enjoy catching up with them! :-)
Thanks for all your lovely comments... I really do appreciate them.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
Take Care
Love and Hugs

Wonderful image with sentiment Sue, it's so difficult to make this type of card,i like the simplicity and the soft tones of your backing paper. The little gems are a lovely finishing touch.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now and the antibiotics have kicked in, hopefully brighter warmer days aren't too far away and they will help. Take care Hugs Meg xx

So lovely Sue. I have to send a lot of get well cards and condolence cards living here where I do. I don't enjoy making them either. Yours is just right, very pretty but not over the top.
Sorry you are poorly again and I do hope you will begin to feel better soon.

These cards are hard to do, in general I struggle not making them too depressive nor too cheerful. This one is perfectly balanced. Great color choices too.

Gorgeous card Sue, great image and love the simple additions for this type of card, the papers are perfect.

Great photo's and glad you made hay while the sun shines as they say. It is very hit and miss here, bucketing it down one minute and a little bit of sun the next and central heating is back on again tonight.
