MAWTT - Let's Get Reading!

Hello... I hope you are all doing ok today... big hugs to those of you who are unwell or going through difficult times... I really hope things improve soon for you.

it's the turn of Team B once again at

our lovely boss Hazel is hosting this week and has chosen a fab theme! :-))

'Let's Get Reading'

We would like your creation to be Inspired by a book or to have a page of a book on it.

I recently read all nine of the Little House Books by Laura Ingalls Wilder... and Wow! how I loved them. So my card today is inspired by them.

I did get one of the books out of the library when I was a young teenager but I didn't like it back then... guess I wasn't mature enough, or I expected it to be exactly the same as on TV which it wasn't. They sure went through some tough times, especially in the long winters... and reading about it really brought home to me how 'comfy' our lives are nowadays in comparison.

I am usually a really slow reader, but got through these books in couple of months... couldn't put them down... SO interesting and beautifully written. I love the TV series too and watch the Box Set over and over. Recently my daughter bought me the book Laura's Album which is a Scrapbook style book of her life ... lots of photos of Lauras family and Memorobilia... would highly recommend if you are a fan of Little House! :-)

This Sarah Kay image always reminds me of Laura Ingalls and I thought the papers worked well with the image and theme.

I hope you can pop over to our main site at MAWTT and see the rest of the Team's book-inspired creations!! I hope you can join us for this fun challenge... I'm really looking forward to seeing your entries... lots of scope to be creative!!

Thanks for all your lovely comments, I really do appreciate them!
Will catch up with you all soon!
Love and hugs

What a sweet image this is, and so beautifully colored. Lovely choice of papers too, reminds me of a quilt, and the colors go so well with the image.
I've read a lot of the books too, as a child. Back then I enjoyed reading much more than watching tv and my parents encouraged my reading too. My father used to take me to the library once a week so I could get new books. I could read a book a day!

I'm a huge Little House fan too, have read one of the books, watched the series as I grew up and now have the box sets! They don't make programs like that any more! That and The Waltons, wholesome family viewing! Love your card Sue, a perfect little Laura and lovely patchwork paper too, something Laura would have had, but not Nelly! Jx

This is just adorable, Sue, such a sweet image, and your papers match so beautifully.

I absolutely LOVE Laura Ingalls Wilder's books! She was just as kind in real life: my cousin wrote to her asking about a particular recipe, and Laura not only sent the recipe, she also gave some background about where it originated! I think it was for a pickle, but don't quote me!!
