MAWTT - Stitch in Time

Hello... I hope you are all well today... it's Thursday and the turn of Team B over at

and our lovely boss Hazel is hosting this week and she has chosen a fab theme of....

'Stitch in Time'

So we want creations with Stitching (real or faux) or.... something to do with Clocks/Time... or both!

Closing Date of this challenge is Wednesday 8pm BST on 3rd September 2014.

I thought I'd use one of the lovely Hobby House Toppers that I bought recently... this is an Elisabeth Bell Pre-Coloured Topper and the little girl is sewing which is perfect for our theme!
The bobbin paper was a freebie with a magazine.... and the gorgeous flower paper was a Birthday gift a while back from Hazel.... I knew straight away it would be perfect with this image. Love the colours and think the card has a slight retro feel to it.

Flowery Paper & Gingham Border: Fancy Pants - 'Childish Things'
Pink Bobbin Paper, Sentiment and Reel - 'Aspire Sew Pretty' set freebie in Papercraft Essentials magazine.
Flower: Bo Bunny
Sewing Scissors: Free charm with magazine.

I hope you can hop on over to our main site at MAWTT and see the rest of the Team's gorgeous creations this week !!

Gosh... this week is going by SO quickly... I think it's because of the Bank Holiday... it really shortens the week... and can't believe it is nearly weekend again! I love Wednesdays and Thursdays at the moment... as really enjoying the Bake Off and Who Do You Think You Are... and just saw a trailer for a new programme beginning soon on BBC called Our Zoo... it's a period drama based on the man who created Chester Zoo... so think it will be worth a look !!
Hope you enjoy the rest of the week!

For relaxing times...make it Santoro time!

Hello my lovelies... hope you are all well... big hugs to those who are not feeling good.

Here's a card that I made just for fun... using my new Santoro Kit that was a Free Gift with my Papercraft Essentials Annual Subscription. I do love this kit... lots of sparkly papers and fab decoupage toppers, lace, buttons, wooden embellies! :-)))

The image is decoupaged although it doesn't show up too well in the photos. I've added some sparkles to the wooden embellies. I printed the sentiment onto a bit of leftover paper from the decoupage sheet so it matches nicely.

 Hope you like it...

Are you enjoying the Bank Holiday in the UK? I'm having a lazy weekend... spent most of Saturday playing with my GarageBand Music Software... then did a bit of Crafting.....watched the documentary on Kate Bush.... and now I'm off to read before bed. So had a nice relaxing day!
Thanks for all your lovely comments... they are very much appreciated.
I hope you all have a nice weekend !!

Oriental Treasure

Hello... I hope your weekend is going well.

I thought I'd share this card that my daughter asked me to make for her friend's Birthday which was a few weeks ago.  She wanted an Oriental theme as her friend had just visited Japan.

I chose my paper first from 'Papermania Oriental Treasure' Stack
Any images that I use for cards for my daughter have GOT to have two eyes, at least a hint of a nose and definitely a mouth!!! Lol... I have strict instructions! ... so I thought I'd have a look through Hannah Lynn's images and found this beauty at Crafts and Me called Amanda... she was such a joy to colour! :-)) and pleased to say that my daughter loved her!

Paper: Papermania - 'Oriental Treasure'
Die: Memory Box - 'Party Lanterns'
Stash: Sentiment, Flower, Gems

I love the Memory Box Party Lanterns... and a great tip is to hand emboss them with metal stylus after cutting. I found if I machine embossed them with patterned paper they became quite fragile in places. So now I just cut them and then go over the embossing by hand before removing, and it really brings out the pattern nicely.

I've coloured Amanda with Copics and Promarkers.

We had lovely weather last Thursday and I actually got to sit out in the garden and enjoy it... it was lovely and sunny, not too hot and a gentle breeze... perfect!! It was quite nice yesterday too, plenty of sunshine! but alas, today Bertha has arrived! - here in the UK we are getting the tail end of a tropical storm. But... perfect weather for staying in and crafting! Hope you are all staying safe and cosy!

I've not done much crafting this weekend though. My daughter has been home and so we've been enjoying watching Midsomer Murders on Box Set!... I'm also looking forward to The Mill later. This series has been so much better than the last and it shows much more of Styal Mill in Cheshire which is a really beautiful place. They still have the old mill with working looms, the apprentice cottages and the old chapel. So I would highly recommend a visit if you get the chance... very educational too.

Off to get a cup of Ceylon Tea now and maybe a biscuit, or two!! ;-))
Thank you for all your lovely comments, I really do appreciate them!
