Divas by Design - April Showers

Hello.... how are you today? hope everyone is doing ok...I can't believe it's May tomorrow! where did April go!! Looking at the weather forecast it looks like we will be having May Showers as well as April ones! but at least it waters the garden! :-)

I've used this very cute image from Bugaboo Stamps and a quotation that I found on the internet... I really like the words... perfect for a rainy day and for life also!! Sorry about the blurry photo.... my camera auto focus really didn't like this card! I took SO many photos and these were about the best.

I've had one of those weeks with technology keep going wrong... as I speak Blogger is saying that I am logged in at another location and do I want to log out and in again!! ROFL what is that all about? I just clicked Close and it went away.... 

My printer totally packed in on Monday... after 4 years of heavy use it has finally gone to the Big Junkyard in the Sky! On Tuesday I accidentally put one of my number dies through the eBosser the wrong way up... so my Magnetic Sheet has a great big No 3 hole in it!! Lol... I will keep plugging the No. 3 back in the hole until the new Magnetic Sheet arrives!! hope nothing else goes wrong!! 

I have ordered a new printer anyway, and so should be up and running again very soon! :-)) it's amazing how much you miss it for printing out the Digis, Papers and Sentiments. 
I still have lots of other Crafting stuff that I can be getting on with though, so it's not too bad really!

Craft Like An Egyptian.....

Hello.... I hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend. Big hugs to those who are not feeling good and I hope you feel better very soon.

I'm back with something that I made just for fun... sometimes it's nice to be inspired by something and just go with the flow....

I watched a Series on Egyptian Art a few months back and found it really interesting... it got me thinking about the colours that they used and also the patterns etc. and the pictures of people, animals and nature that lived in Egypt long ago.

Anyway, I thought I would do a picture to represent England and Nature in present day time.... so wondered what animals I could use and then remembered this lovely Owl set of Stamps that was a gift from my lovely blogging friend Debs... thanks hun! I think owls are perfect as they often represent wisdom! ;-)

I stamped the images onto a Papyrus Paper background... used a pattern stamp that was freebie in magazine for a border... I used Copics and kept to the colours of brown, gold and blue, so hopefully it has an Egyptian feel to it... the chipboard frame was a freebie with a magazine... and I've painted it with Acrylic Paint.

Looking at the picture now.... I might go over the blue in the border with a deeper shade... it looks a little pale... still not sure about the frame... it might look better in a square frame? but then I quite like the brown card surround? Lol ... ah well... it was a creation just for fun and I really enjoyed doing it! :-))

Ah well, better get back to my crafting.... I have a few Birthday Cards to make for next month.  Looking forward to The Crimson Field later.... and my daughter and I are catching up with Game of Thrones! :-))

I've coloured up this lovely image of a bicycle from Beccy's Place. It was a lovely image to colour. You do get a pre-coloured version in the set, but I wanted to colour this to match the scrummy Maja papers that I got for my Birthday last month... with a voucher from my lovely friend Laurie... thanks hun!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter? I had a very relaxing Weekend... Thursday my friend Lynn took me out for Tea and Cake... it was a lovely afternoon. We had a good catch up and went to the local pub on Village Green. We used to go there all the time in our teens... so it was nice to go back to our old stomping ground! And somebody (very kindly) kept putting The Who on the Jukebox which brought back even more memories as they were our favourite band back in the good old days!
On Friday I went to another friend's house for Pizza night... very yummy pizzas and a lovely Lemon Tart with Fresh Cream for Dessert... Mmm... very nice! (my diet begins next week!! Lol )
and the rest of the weekend I spent Crafting and Reading... Monday afternoon was lovely and sunny and so Mum and I sat in the Garden. But I can't believe it's got around to Thursday again already.... and it will soon be Weekend again! a very short week after the holiday.  The weather doesn't look so good for this weekend... but perfect for staying indoors and Crafting! ;-))

Divas by Design - Bundle of Joy!

I've made a mini-card with a Beaded Circle Nestie and a pre-coloured image from Pink Gem Designs. I opened the image in Pages Software and made the background see-through with the Alpha Tool... then popped the the Gingham Paper behind so it showed through. So it was quite a simple card design... the hardest part was sticking the pearls on!! just glad they were stick on ones!

I am scheduling this on Tuesday afternoon... it's been a lovely day here in Manchester, UK again... brilliant sunshine! and not too hot... I do hope it stays like this for Easter! My daughter is going away for the weekend and so I will probably do some Crafting, and hopefully there will be some good things on TV.  Jamaica Inn starts on Easter Monday... Lady Sybil from Downton is in it... so Mum and I are looking forward to that! And hopefully I can spend a little time in the garden reading my book too... Easter Eggs on Sunday of course!! :-))

Wow! I can't believe how fast this last week has gone by.... I have been catching up with my crafting over the last few days, and so this next week I will try and catch up with my commenting... ah I used to be able to fit it all into each day!! but I just don't seem able at the moment! :-(

I have also been grabbing a bit of sunshine while it lasts... it's warm enough to sit out in the garden and is lovely as all the flowers are coming out... we have lots of Bluebells in our garden and it looks like a Fairyland when they are all out... I think the Clematis will be coming out soon too... I can see pink buds opening... lovely to see the garden bursting into life! :-))

Ah this last week has gone by so quickly... I had a lovely Mother's Day on Sunday... spent the day relaxing with my Mum and Daughter... watching Dvd's and eating cake and choccies... so a perfect day!! Can't believe we are now into April though! ... Easter seemed so far away a few weeks ago... and now it's just around the corner!
