MAWTT - Make a Box and Decorate It

Hello... I hope you are all well today...

it's Thursday and the turn of Team B over at

and our lovely Karina is hosting a fab theme of

'Make a Box and Decorate It'

Now don't panic!!! it can be a very simple box... and there are loads of free templates on the internet. To make things really easy... you can do as I have done and print your template straight onto the back of patterned paper and then it's just a matter of cutting it out and folding it along the creases.

Here is a website that I used for my Pillow Pack Box.. it was really easy to make.... click here
I have also made a Pyramid Box which was a bit trickier but the instructions and template are available here

I've used Mambi (Me & My Big Ideas) Paper... it's very thick paper... almost like light card and is perfect for folding. The Pillow Pack Box was very simple... just crease and fold along the lines and then glue the tabs... I've decorated it with some webbed ribbon, blue lace and a Bo Bunny flower.

The Pyramid Box is made using no adhesive at all - it's all down to the folding and the bamboo stick and square to hold it together. I made a bit of a mess of the holes as I didn't have the right hole punch... so next time I will try and make a neater job of it!

This is what the folded template looks like... it's a bit tricky to do the folds... there are mountains and valleys... helps if you've done Origami.. you have to kind of ease them in going around a bit at a time...

and then when all the folds are done... this is what it looks like... now you just gather the four points together to form the pyramid....

I cut two pieces of the square out and stuck them together... this makes it a bit firmer to hold everything together... then finally I put a bamboo stick through the holes... I've added a flower and some beads to the stick for decoration...

I think the Pyramid Box would be great for Jewellery! and the Pillow Box could be used for loads of things depending how big you make it...
I had fun making them and love how they came out!

I hope you can hop on over to our main site at MAWTT and see the rest of the Team's wonderful boxy creations this week... lots of inspiration for you!!

I can't believe how quickly this last week has flown by!! We've had some beautiful sunny weather but they've forecast mist for this morning!! if only the good weather could hold out and stay nice for the weekend... that would be really good!! It would be nice to sit out and read for a while... but won't be doing that if cold or raining!! Lol
Thanks for all your lovely comments! :-))
Love and hugs

These are fabulous, love the papers and the gorgeous flowers.
Sorry Sue but boxes, in any way, shape or form are not my forte. The number of people who have given up on my trying to get me to make a box is unbelievable, I just can not do it, no matter how easy, in fact the easier they are the worse mess I make lol.

You're a better man than I am ..........

Those are just so pretty! You are very clever to make boxes - I've tried and the generally turn out rather dodgy!!

The pyramid one is particularly clever - no adhesive sounds scary!!
