June - Strawberries and Tennis?

Hello... I hope you are all well... big hugs to anyone who is not feeling good... :-)

I haven't posted for a while.. so thought I'd post this card that I made last year but didn't show.... it was for a friend's birthday in June...

and can you believe that June is just around the corner... a month that makes me think of Strawberries... and long hot days... ice cold drinks.... bees buzzing.... tennis... ah well we can dream.... LOL

but the way the weather is going......... let's just hope we don't have any of the white stuff for Wimbledon... can you imagine.....

Just Joking.... I have photoshopped the wonderful McEnroe!! remember the good old days when he played Jimmy Connors and Bjorn Borg... and the wonderful Chrissie Evert, Martina Navratilova and Evonne Cawley etc... ooh what wonderful matches they had back then...

I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday... the sunshine was lovely while it lasted wasn't it... but alas... back to dull and rain again today... perfect weather for crafting or reading though! :-)

Thanks for all your lovely comments... I really do appreciate them all... will be back with another creation very soon!
Love and hugs

LOL Sue I loved your post! I remember when Yvonne Crawley was Yvonne Goolagong lol!!
I have been lucky enough to have been to Wimbledon 3 times. The first time was magical, one of my potato suppliers brother in law was the chairman of Wimbledon at the time so he got me my first pair of tickets. My friend and I had the best day out EVER! The last time I went I watched Tim Henman beat Kafelnikof on centre court and the atmosphere was electric! Venus Willianms was the following match and she is so tall and elegant, she moved like a graceful panther!
Anyway back to you wonderful card, love the papers, the design and the cute little banner - I probably love 40 (get it) things agout it!!
Hugs Laurie xx

I love your photo, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be true - snow at Wimbledon - stranger things have happened!
I hope you are well.

This is gorgeous Sue, the perfect card for a June Birthday. I love that cute image and beautiful papers.
I certainly do remember those players although I was only a child at the time but we used to watch Wimbledon as a family. Funny enough, Jimmy Connors was on the radio today talking about those days and promoting his book.
Take care
hugs Sue xx

What a lovely summer birthday card! Apart from tennis, all the other things you've mentioned represent summer to me as well. I love the strawberry paper you've used as background, and your image is so sweet. I like the banner, the cut out strawberries and the panel with brads - it all works so well together!
