MAWTT Challenge 157 - 'Summer'

Good Morning! Hope you are all doing ok... can you believe we are in August now? the months seem to be flying by... it's my turn this week to host a new Challenge over at ..

Moving Along With The Times

and I've chosen the theme of.....
'Summer'

So it's a simple theme... anything at all to do with Summer... it doesn't have to be a card.. as long as your creation has a 'Summery' theme... I can't wait to see all your wonderful creations! :-)

I got my Distress Inks out again for this one and also did some heat embossing... and I'm hoping it looks like a Summer's Day in the meadows!! The paper is Kaisercraft 'Hunt & Gather' which I thought was perfect to go with these lovely butterflies. Our sponsors The Crafty Pad very kindly gave us some images to work with... and I chose 'Butterflies with Verse and Borders' - so I digitally coloured the butterfly images to match the paper and then cut them out.. added some pearls. I used the verse inside.

The sky background was done with cloud template and ink dusters - Memento Ink - Bahamas Blue... Oops! nearly forgot... the gorgeous grass stamps are all from a Inkadinkado 'Meadow' Set... I chose it as part of my prize from Simon Says Stamp a few weeks ago ...

I've decorated inside with Sara Schmutz 'Mist' paper from Design House Digital and added labels.

The Butterfly Verse that comes with the butterfly images...

We are sponsored this week by The Crafty Pad

who are very kindly giving the Winner of this week's challenge 5 digital images of the winners choice or 3 images and 1 digital paper.

Hope you can hop on over to MAWTT for more details of the Challenge and to see my Teamies wonderful creations...

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenges:-

The Crafty Pad - Challenge 181 - 'Things with Wings' ends 4th August 2012
Dream Valley - Challenge 37 - 'Summer' ends 4th August 2012
Bearly-Mine - Challenge 46 - 'Anything Goes' ends 6th August 2012
Scrap Creations - 'Anything Goes' ends 6th August 2012
Creative Inspirations - Challenge 174 - 'In the Garden' ends 7th August 2012

Not long until the weekend... can't wait until Saturday... my daughter is back from York... she has been away all this week doing research in the Archives for her PhD...
There hasn't been much on tv apart from the Olympics but... just read that a new series of Who Do You Think You Are should be coming up very soon... I love Autumn TV... hopefully there will be Downton Abbey... and there is a new Series coming to the BBC called The Paradise, set in 1890's Northern England and centred around a Department Store... so that might be worth a look!
Thanks for all your lovely comments - I really do appreciate them... and a big welcome to my new followers...
I will be back very soon! Winking smile
Love and Hugs

This definitely looks like a summer's day in the meadow Sue, I love it, such a stunning card.

Don't know about you but the olympics bore me to tears, just not sporty I'm not! 'The Paradise' sounds like it could appeal to me, hope we get it. Meanwhile we already have Downton Abbey but I don't watch that.

Do you get 'Beauty and the Geek'? I caught the last series mid way through and got hooked on it lol.

Have a lovely weekend seeing your daughter back home again.
Cheers, Elaine

This is awesome sweetie. You are a dab hand with those distress inks. You have created a gorgeous card. I don't know if you already have found out but you won Digi Doodle Shop Challenges with the super card on the posting below this one.

I am sure you are looking forward to your daughter coming home. Downton Abbey is mean't to be on in Sept so they told us when I visited Highclere Castle last week. The cast had just finished the last shots on the Sunday as we went on the Tuesday.
