My Crafty Heart DT - Wildflowers

I had to make a quick Thank You card and so thought I would get a bit 'arty' and get the Distress Inks out again. It's first time I've done anything like this and I think there is plenty of room for improvement!! but it's supposed to be sand dunes with sky background and wildflowers!! I've used one of the gorgeous new Memory Box Stamps available from My Crafty Heart... this one is called 'Whisper Print Wildflower'. The rubber stamps are wooden mounted and print beautifully...

I was inspired by the wonderful cards that Maarit has done with masking technique and so thought I would have a go at it... I used my inkduster brushes but I think I need to be a bit bolder as the sky is a bit wishy washy. I got braver when I got down to the dunes and think they look quite good... I had terrible trouble photographing this card. I've tried every kind of light and still not happy with photos!!! but after 4 days trying... I have given up and this is as good as it's gonna get!!!! LOL

I created masks for the sun/moon, clouds and dunes... then printed three flowers using Bundled Sage Distress Ink. Then printed two with clear embossing ink and used Verdigris Embossing Powder on it and used heat gun... it's the first time I've tried this embossing technique and I love it !!! it looks so pretty!! The paper is some 12 x 12 that I got recently and I can't remember where...

Available from My Crafty Heart...

STAMP: Memory Box - Whisper Print 'Wildflower' Stamp
INKS: Tim Holtz Distress Ink - 'Bundled Sage' and 'Tea Dye'

I've also used from stash:-
Memento 'Bahama Blue' for sky, Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'Wild Honey'
Embossing Powder - 'Verdigris'
Craft Creations 12 x 12 Paper
Gold Card
Thank You Sentiment made on computer

I really enjoyed making something a bit different and I love the effect of the heat embossing..  will definitely have to do more...

I would like to enter the following Challenges:-

Fab'n Funky - Challenge 124 - 'Go Green' ends 12th June 2012
Craft your Passion - Challenge 114 - 'Anything Goes' ends 17th June 2012
Raise the Bar - Challenge 107 - 'Hello Summer' ends July 2012
Hotshot Craft Challenge - Challenge 9 - 'Distress Inks'

My daughter got back from the Download Festival yesterday. Straight into the Shower, then Sleep!! then cleaning mud off everything... LOL She really enjoyed it despite the dreadful conditions. I still can't believe that we are in June!! it just doesn't feel like it at all... but I still haven't given up hope of a Summer .....yet!!

Thank You for all your lovely comments!! I will catch up with you very soon..
Love and Hugs

Very creative and arty Mrs I'm well impressed! I think the sky is a perfect colour Sue and I love the ink duster effect, Lisa gave Pam and I lesson on this effect last year and I haven't been brave enough to try it yet! Love the green paper, its my fave colour and your stamp is beautiful - very delicate

eeeek...i hate muddy things... you would never ever find me enjoying an open-air-festival or spending a day somewhere in a muddy place...
but i love your card and you really need to explain me where exactly you need more improving!! it looks wonderful to me!
your latest e-mail made me laugh... what about planting some new bushes for the birdies? could be poisoned berries (not dangerous for birds though) and then your funny (NOT) neighbour would eat them and die!! :o)
Someone invent a poisoned-berry-bush-that-a-stupid-neighbour-can't-resist, thanks a lot.
Hugs, Alessandra
