MAWTT Challenge 145 - 'Christmas in April'

Good Morning! The weeks are just whizzing by now aren't they? and yet I still have to pinch myself that we are in April - it's So blooming cold!! but never mind - why not stay indoors snug and warm and do some crafting! and as it's Thursday - it's time for a brand new challenge over at

Our lovely boss Hazel is hosting the challenge this week and has chosen the fab theme of ...

'Christmas in April'

I hope you can join us in what promises to be a fun challenge - I certainly had fun making this little card and it's a great way to get ahead with your Cards, Gifts, Tags - so that you are not rushing around and making them all on Christmas Eve!! It doesn't have to be a card but it does have to follow the theme and be something Christmassy!!!

We have a Fab Sponsor this week... Bugaboo!!!  Ooh I do love their images...

and the Winner of this week's challenge will get a very generous prize of 7 Bugaboo images of their choice!!! (worth $21) - Wow! How cool is that!! :-))

Bugaboo also very kindly gave us some fab images to play with and I chose this little gingerbread man! 'Christmas Gingers - 'Candy Canes'. I wanted to do a Gingerbread card last year but never got around to it.

I've used the Nitwits Collections - Woodland Wishes papers again. I chose some cream and plum papers from the set and digitally coloured the gingerbread man to match. I have done some shading with Prisma pencils but it's not really showing up in the photo. I used the colours to make matching sentiments.

The embellishments are all from one set. They are buttons and I just took the back off the sweeties and lollipop. The little gingerbread house was already flat.

So this was quite a quick card to make but I really like it. Oops I nearly forgot - the icing on the Gingerbread Man. I used my new Snow Marker and then heat embossed it slightly and then brushed it with glossy accents. It looks quite like icing in real life as it glistens.

Hope you can hop on over to MAWTT for more wonderful inspiration from my Teamies! And don't forget to check whether you were a winner last week. Can I say a Big Thank You for all your wonderful entries into my Vintage/Shabby Chic Challenge - it was So hard choosing three winners - they were all so fab!!!

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenges:-

Stamptacular Sunday - Challenge 159 - 'Freebie Week' ends 21st April 2012
Incy Wincy Designs - Challenge 142 - 'Digi's Only' ends 22nd April 2012
Crafty Sentiments Designs - 'Use a Digi' ends 23rd April 2012

I have to apologise for being a bad blogger this week - I still can't shake off this cold and it's making me really tired. I hope to catch up with you all very soon!! I'd also like to welcome my new followers! and to say a big Thank You for all your lovely comments!
Take Care
Love Sue xx
