MAWTT - Sketch

Hello... I hope you are all well today... it's Thursday and the turn of Team B over at

Our lovely Red is hosting this week and she has given us this fab

'Sketch'

you can put the sentiment anywhere you wish but we must be able to see that you've used the basic design of the Sketch.

This card was so quick to make but I love how it came out! :-)

Flower: BoBunny 'Blossoms'
Paper and Sentiment: Kaisercraft 'Lady Rose'
Leaves: Martha Stewart Punch

Red chose one of her earliest cards to case and use as Sketch.... and asked if we would like to show some of our 'early' cards too.... so I thought why not go way back....... before I started my blog even!! I hope that I haven't shown these before? can't remember if I have or not!! apologies if so...

I started off Cardmaking about 2007 with Let's Make Cards magazine... and you got an exciting kit full of toppers, papers and lots of embellies!! The Easter card top left was a runner up in a competition... so they featured it in a group photo of the Top 50 in their magazine, and you could just about see it nestled in there amongst all the other cards. I was SO chuffed at the time, and my my family were too!!
The card with the ship is a very early one... my Mum loved the photo and so I made a card and had an idea to scan and print out the sails onto card and build it up to add dimension.... I didn't even know that I was doing decoupage back then!!! Lol

Hope you liked my little trip down Memory Lane!! ;-))

Please do hop on over to our main site at MAWTT and see the rest of the Team's wonderful creations and you can also see some of their earlier work on the individual blogs too !!

Ah well... I'm gonna hopefully catch up with some crafting today and tomorrow... I'm SO slow at creating at the moment!!! in fact I am slow at everything! Lol.... hope I speed up soon! Thank you for all your lovely comments! :-))

Divas by Design - Flower Power

Hello.... I hope you are all well today! it's Team A's turn over at

and we have a wonderful theme for you this week of....

'Flower Power'

so of course we want to see lots of flowers!!

The lovely sentiment image was a freebie with Making Cards magazine... I also took inspiration for the ribbon/flower from the magazine... by taking two or three lengths of same ribbon and tying a bow then arranging and trimming... place beneath flowers and I think it looks really pretty ... then I've just layered up with my papers... quite a different card style for me,  but I quite like it.

Sentiment Image: Freebie with magazine
Papers: Kaisercraft 'Lady Rose'
Flowers, Ribbons and Nailheads... from Stash

Apologies for the rubbish photos... I wanted to try and take some better ones but didn't get the time. It's been very dull here since last Friday... I want the sunshine back again... how cruel to give us a taste of Spring and then take it away again! Lol

We are sponsored this week by the wonderful Live and Love Crafts

I hope you can pop on over to our main blog at Divas by Design and see the rest of the team's beautiful flowery creations!!! :-))

Has anyone else had trouble with Mr Blogger this last week? I've kept getting pages failing to load when I'm posting and commenting... so it made blogging very slow.
It's been another busy week for us... but some good news! my daughter got her PhD finished and submitted yesterday.... such a relief...  I really hope she passes as she has worked so hard!!  Thanks for all your good wishes for her!
I'm feeling very tired at the moment, so think I will have a couple of days rest and relaxation... then looking forward to getting back into crafting again at the weekend!
Thank you for all your lovely comments! I really do appreciate them!! :-)
I will catch up with you soon.

MAWTT - Make a Box and Decorate It

Hello... I hope you are all well today...

it's Thursday and the turn of Team B over at

and our lovely Karina is hosting a fab theme of

'Make a Box and Decorate It'

Now don't panic!!! it can be a very simple box... and there are loads of free templates on the internet. To make things really easy... you can do as I have done and print your template straight onto the back of patterned paper and then it's just a matter of cutting it out and folding it along the creases.

Here is a website that I used for my Pillow Pack Box.. it was really easy to make.... click here
I have also made a Pyramid Box which was a bit trickier but the instructions and template are available here

I've used Mambi (Me & My Big Ideas) Paper... it's very thick paper... almost like light card and is perfect for folding. The Pillow Pack Box was very simple... just crease and fold along the lines and then glue the tabs... I've decorated it with some webbed ribbon, blue lace and a Bo Bunny flower.

The Pyramid Box is made using no adhesive at all - it's all down to the folding and the bamboo stick and square to hold it together. I made a bit of a mess of the holes as I didn't have the right hole punch... so next time I will try and make a neater job of it!

This is what the folded template looks like... it's a bit tricky to do the folds... there are mountains and valleys... helps if you've done Origami.. you have to kind of ease them in going around a bit at a time...

and then when all the folds are done... this is what it looks like... now you just gather the four points together to form the pyramid....

I cut two pieces of the square out and stuck them together... this makes it a bit firmer to hold everything together... then finally I put a bamboo stick through the holes... I've added a flower and some beads to the stick for decoration...

I think the Pyramid Box would be great for Jewellery! and the Pillow Box could be used for loads of things depending how big you make it...
I had fun making them and love how they came out!

I hope you can hop on over to our main site at MAWTT and see the rest of the Team's wonderful boxy creations this week... lots of inspiration for you!!

I can't believe how quickly this last week has flown by!! We've had some beautiful sunny weather but they've forecast mist for this morning!! if only the good weather could hold out and stay nice for the weekend... that would be really good!! It would be nice to sit out and read for a while... but won't be doing that if cold or raining!! Lol
Thanks for all your lovely comments! :-))

Vintage Kitty

Hello... I hope you are all well today... I thought I'd show you a card that I made for my lovely blogging friend Janice's Birthday... I found this very cute Vintage Kitty on the Graphics Fairy and I thought it looked a little bit like her cat Merlot. I've teamed it up with some very scrummy Maja papers... ooh I had to take a couple of deep breaths before I could break into this pad!! Lol the papers are SO gorgeous!!

Papers: Maja 'Vintage Spring Basics'
Flowers and heart were a gift from my lovely daughter... thanks hun!

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine in the UK... isn't it fab after all that horrid rain! I am quite busy at the moment... my daughter is working hard to get her PhD finished... she only has a week or so... so I'm helping her by checking everything, proofreading, printing stuff, sorting maps etc. But yesterday I squeezed in a bit of Crafting and finished off a couple of cards which was nice and I am going to catch up with the weekend TV later! :-))
Thank you for all your lovely comments!

Divas by Design - Let's Hear it For the Boys!

Hello.... I hope you are all doing ok today?.... I can't quite believe we are now into March!! where did February go? Lol .... it's Team A's turn again over at

and we have a wonderful theme for you this week of....

'Let's Hear it For the Boys'

I've kept things simple for this classic male card... using a pre-coloured topper from LOTV.

Image: LOTV - 'Vintage Boys' Art Pad
Papers: Red - Kaisercraft 'Christmas Collections', Beige - Prima 'Romance Novel'
Sentiment: LOTV - 'Sentiments' Art Pad 8
Black Mirri Card - Handy Hippo

This really was an easy card to make as the image and sentiment were pre-printed, so just a case of mounting everything on black mirri card. I love the effect of the warm red paper... which is actually Christmas paper but think I have got away with it on this Birthday Card...it has little leaves and berries... but they aren't holly so could be used any time of year! :-))

We are sponsored by the wonderful Craftie Charlie

I hope you can pop on over to our main blog at Divas by Design and see the rest of the team's wonderful manly creations!!! :-))

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last card... I seem to be really enjoying doing vintage cards at the moment. I'm also feeling inspired to make some Spring themed cards... so hopefully I will find some time to squeeze them in.... we have had lots of lovely sunshine here in Manchester UK, which has been nice! it really makes you feel better in yourself.
Take Care and hope the rest of the week goes well for you!
