MAWTT - 'Seeing Stars'

'Seeing Stars'

So we want to see all your creations using a Star/s somewhere on your project... it doesn't have to be a card... as long as you follow the theme!! lots of scope here... you could use a star embellishment or have an image with a star/s.... don't forget you can enter up to three times but no backlinking....

they also gave us some really cute images to play with and I have used a 'Barry Countdown to Christmas' one and he is SO cute!!! 

Little Barry is getting all tangled up in the Christmas Lights bless him.... The scrummy papers are Basic Grey 'Nordic Holiday'... I've embossed a strip of card with a Snowflake Border (freebie with a mag) and I've brushed it with Distress Ink to show up the pattern .... the bow is with Papermania Ribbon and the little charm is from stash. I've added some red Star gems and a green pearl star from stash... So lots of Stars on my card..... oh the sentiment is a Peel Off added to a tag...  it hasn't photographed very well because of the gold on it...

Now I don't what happened when I was designing this card in my head... but upon completion all I can see is  the ITALIAN FLAG!!!!! ROFL - ok it's not the right way round and the middle is a bit greeny... but you can see it can't you? ... but anyway... I still love it cos Barry Bear is SO darn cute!!!!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and Copics.

I'm looking forward to weekend and Strictly from Wembley.... it should be good! I hope they've got the sound quality sorted out this time though...as it was awful last year!!! don't know how Kimberley ended  up in dance off last week - her Viennese Waltz was beautiful!!! Sunday.. I might take a look at The Secret of Crickley Hall... it looks really spooky! I love a good ghost story :-)))

MAWTT - Spotlight Technique

Hello!! I hope you are all well this Thursday morning... biggest of hugs to those who are not....it's my turn to host a new Challenge over at...

Moving Along With The Times

and I have chosen the theme of.....

'Spotlight Technique'

I think a lot of people are put off this theme because of leaving some areas black and white... so hopefully in this card below it shows that you don't necessarily have to do that... also below is a short tutorial.

In this card I have mounted the circle with 3D Foam pads to make it stand out.... the paper was a freebie with magazine..

If you have never heard of the technique it is really easy....

1. Stamp or Print out the same image twice.... if using digital images make sure they are both same size. 

2. Cut or Punch out a Circle of one of the images.

3. Now you can either leave the circle black and white and colour the other image ... or do the reverse... colour the spotlight and leave the rest of the image black and white.. or you can colour both if you wish... it's up to you... and the main thing is that you have fun!

4. If you mount the spotlight on 3D pads it really makes the spotlight stand out... 

The spotlight doesn't have to be a circle - it could be any shape that you wish....

The technique works really well on tags and I think they look quite cool.... and very quick to make when you are in a rush for Christmas....

I enjoyed making both the card and tags ... I hope that they inspire you to have a go at this technique....

Heidi - CLP Sketch

Hello... Happy Bonfire Night! I hope you are all well.... and big hugs to those who are not... I am feeling much better now although I do seem to be very SLOW at doing stuff... I have been really struggling to find my mojo... so thought I would work with a Sketch for some inspiration... I have used this fab one from Crafting Life's Pieces for their November Challenge.

I've used a gorgeous Wee Stamp called 'Heidi' which is available from My Crafty Heart. The gorgeous papers are Kaisercraft - Turtle Dove. The border and sentiment was also included in the pad.

I've added a rich red bow. Both the ribbon and pink gems are from MeiFlower. Also some Wooden Snowflakes from stash. Sorry about the photos they are a bit glary!! and poor Heidi looks totally anaemic but she does have a pink face irl honest!!... I've taken so many photos of this card and I'm still not happy but it will have to do... I should get my light box out but I don't have the energy yet!!! LOL

I've coloured 'Heidi' with Watercolour Pens. I've added 'Snow Crystal' Glitter on image and also on the torn paper.....

I hope you are all having a nice evening. My daughter and her boyfriend have gone to a Firework Display... I'm staying in warm and snug!! Just had my Bangers and Mash for Supper... so am nice and relaxed and will probably be feeling sleepy again very soon!! Wasn't Downton fab!! I am going to miss it SO much... isn't the new girl Rose a Hoot!!! LOL methinks she is going to cause bedlam in the Christmas Special !!!

MAWTT - 'Stitch Up'

Good Morning... hope you are all well today.... I am feeling a lot better than I did last week. Thanks for all your good wishes.. I will be catching up with you all over the next few days. I can't believe it's Thursday again already... and so time for a new Challenge over at

'Stitch Up'

So we want to see Stitching! Lots of scope for this challenge... you could stitch your Design Papers, use Faux Stitching or Sew something with Felt... it's up to you....really looking forward to seeing all your fab creations! 

My intention was to sew several of these hearts but with being poorly I only got one of them finished! The sewing kit was a pressie from my daughter last xmas. I thought all the pieces would be cut out and ready to sew... but basically they just gave you a load of materials, buttons and some templates and said.... 'have fun' LOL!! It took me quite a while to do as my dexterity is not good.... but did most of it a few weeks ago while my daughter was away in Scotland.

The two fabrics that I used here frayed a lot... but they kind of give it a shabby chic look? that's my excuse anyway. I forgot to sew the hanging ribbon into the seam and so have tried to make it look pretty with the added button. Hope you like it!

MAWTT - 'Too Cute To Spook'

'Too Cute To Spook'

Yes with Halloween just around the corner... time to create something spooky but not too scary!! in fact it has to be CUTE!! remember it doesn't have to be a card as long as you follow the theme!

I have chosen a very cute image from Paper Shelter called A Great Harvest... this little fella looks all set for Trick and Treating!

I've chosen some of my favourite MAMBI papers and kept the card quite simple... just added a flower and leaves made with Marianne Design dies... and added a WOC purple carnation in centre.

I've coloured the image with Promarkers. Can't believe that I was stupid enough to colour in all this image and then realise that I  hadn't left enough card space around it to cut out a square, circle or anything!!! anyway.. I had spent so long colouring it ... decided to cut the image out and just leave some white space... I just hope it looks ok?

Hope I have entered these correctly - I struggled doing these links as I am not well so if I have broken any rules then big apologies and please delete... I'm just glad that I typed up this post and all the links last week before I got ill. 

Sorry I haven't been able to visit you all and comment but I have yet another chest infection. Sunday I had temperature and was shivering all day... then in evening it started going up... and up... when it got to over 104F I felt really ill so went to A & E and they admitted me. So they kept me in until Tuesday afternoon while they got my fever down and I came home with some mega strong antibiotics. I still feel really ill and can't do much... any slight exertion and I can't breathe so basically I just have to rest. Can't believe that when I got back... the bloke next door is having is blooming house renovated. They are stripping the whole roof off and some top bricks and sending them all down a huge chute... Oh the noise!!  Thank the Lord for earplugs!! :-))

MAWTT - Alice Inspired

Morning - I can't believe it's Thursday again already! and it's time for a new Challenge over at 

Moving Along With The Times

and this week it is our lovely boss Hazel who is hosting and she has chosen the fab theme of

'Alice Inspired'

So we want to see creations inspired by Alice in Wonderland!!! it doesn't have to be a card.... could be a tag, altered item, atc.... as long as we can see that you have followed the Alice theme.

 I had to put my thinking cap on for this one... but decided to go with the Mad Hatter and a 'tea' theme... after all tea is such a quintessential part of British life! I coloured the MH in browns and then found this cool Raspberry Road paper which was freebie with magazine... I just had to use it as it had teacups on!!

 I've added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.... and added some gold Ivy which is Marianne Die... and there is an actual Tea Bag underneath the quote!!! yes I know it is a little crazy but it is the Mad Hatter after all!! LOL

The quotation is by Sir Philip Sidney who was an English Statesman in the 1500's... but I reckon he's hit the nail on the head with these words... I've also added a Twinings Label in top left corner... I've coloured the Hatter with Promarkers and a touch of Prisma Pencils...

It has felt really Autumny this week here in the Uk... the leaves are beginning to turn pretty colours... and we have had some sunshine... and some rain... and some very weird and loud gusts of wind in the night!!??? not sure what they are about... I just hope the owls have got their woolly hats on!! LOL

Not long until the weekend... I'm SO looking forward to Strictly and Downton again....
