Gorjuss Winter Wonderland - My Crafty Heart...

Good Afternoon! Hope you are all doing ok... here is a card that I've made with some new goodies from My Crafty Heart...  Now the idea is supposed to be that this little lady is sitting on the roof looking out for Santa.... but now I am wondering what on earth she is doing up there in the cold and snow without a coat, gloves and hat!!! LOL  

I've used some scrummy papers that are new in at MCH ... My Mind's Eye - 'Winter Wonderland' - and they include some nice borders and tags etc... I've used the Merry & Bright border here.. and there are some gorgeous 'Winter Wonderland' Buttons to match as I've used here...

The Gorjuss Girl stamp is called 'On Top of the World' and I have masked the pigeons for this card... as it is winter... you don't seem to see pigeons very often LOL...they are probably snuggled up in their nest.. The snow on the roof is heated Embossing Powder ... but not sure that I would use it again.. not quite the effect that I was looking for... but one advantage is that it doesn't shed glitter everywhere... but the effect is not very even... but I'm hoping that you will think it is where Gorjuss Girl Scrambled up on the roof and disturbed the snow!!!! ROFL...

MAWTT Challenge 158 - 'Shape Up - Just Nothing Square'

'Shape Up - Just Nothing Square'

So we want to see your creations that are not square!! it doesn't have to be a card ... you could make a round tag... a heart shaped box... anything ...as long as it isn't square...This challenge will run for 2 weeks.. so you have until 8pm BST Wednesday 29th August 2012

Now I have to confess that I am stuck in a bit of a rut... week after week of square cards... I asked my daughter for some ideas and she suggested an Octagon Shaped Card... I quite liked the idea and so... found a template online and this is what I came up with...

The gorgeous image is called 'Snow Goddess' by Michelle Perkett available on Etsy.. just click on the links for more details. I love her images so much and they are wonderful to colour.. I've used Copics, Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Spectrums!!! Star Dust Stickles on her fur trims.

 The gorgeous paper is Nitwits and is from Woodland Wishes Collection.... I've not added any embellies. The image is so beautiful.. I really don't think it needs any..

I've decorated the inside with the Nitwits paper. The Winter Wishes Sentiments were added on computer before printing out....

I really enjoyed working with this shape... definitely going to do more... and it stands up really well too... so I just need to figure out how to make an Octagonal Envelope now!! LOL....

Can I say a big thank you for all your wonderful entries in last week's challenge... we had 201 entries!! Wow! and they were all gorgeous... the standard was so high and it was very difficult to choose winners!

I'm really sorry that I haven't managed to get around to visit you in last couple of days... things have been a bit hectic at home... my daughter has just found out that her PhD Thesis has to be submitted in two weeks time instead of six!!!.... All the family have got chest infections... don't know why there are so many viruses doing the rounds... and in Summertime too!!

Anyway, I'm hoping to get some crafty time at weekend... and to catch up with you all very soon!

Tickles - My Crafty Heart DT Card

This is a card made with scrummy goodies from My Crafty Heart.... the gorgeous stamp is called 'Tickles' by Penny Johnson. Isn't she a sweetie... This card did not come out as I planned it... not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!! I think it's turned out with a rather Night-time Boudoir feel to it LOL !!! it's certainly different!! 

The gorgeous papers are by Glitz Design and are called 'Vintage Blue'.  If you haven't seen them yet take a look at the new Glitz Design and First Edition Pads - they are all really scrummy! Also lots of new Stampavie Stamps by Gillian Roberts, Penny Johnson and Helz Cuppleditch... :-)

Ooh I almost forgot... also new in are some gorgeous Prima Papers... you will love them so much... and some scrummy new Winter releases Memory Box Dies...

MAWTT Reminder... Some Exciting News... and a Thank You!

Hello! Well I feel a bit like the White Rabbit this week... I am behind with so many things... I had a hospital appointment on Monday... it went fine... but it has made me SO tired.... can't describe how much it has put me back with doing just routine things....

My exciting news... well it is for me!! the Editor of Papercraft Inspirations contacted me a  few weeks ago and asked if she could feature one of my cards in their magazine!! Well of course I said yes I would be delighted!!! the card is this one.... and you can see more details about it on my original post here...

and here is the card in this months Papercraft Inspirations magazine... the little one top left! It's in the September Issue - I've just bought a copy and it's got a nice free gift of decoupage kit and scissors! Also a Masterclass on Pan Pastels.. something I've wanted to look into...

Alice in The Morning - My Crafty Heart DT Card

This little lady is called 'Alice in the Morning'... and she is just one of the fab Sarah Kay images available at My Crafty Heart.

The wonderful papers are one of the new First Edition Pads now available at MCH and this one is called 'Boho Chic' - Ooh I do love this pad... the colours are gorgeous greens, oranges and browns...

I've used the sketch for  the challenge over at  Papertake Weekly - and I loved working with it... it's a really fab layout...! :-)

The weathers not been too bad here in Manchester... sunny spells... although we did have some lightning at tea time!!! but no rain...not yet anyway!! my daughter is now home so we had a nice relaxing evening and watched one of our favourite films Lost in Translation

MAWTT Challenge 157 - 'Summer'

Good Morning! Hope you are all doing ok... can you believe we are in August now? the months seem to be flying by... it's my turn this week to host a new Challenge over at ..

Moving Along With The Times

and I've chosen the theme of.....

'Summer'

So it's a simple theme... anything at all to do with Summer... it doesn't have to be a card.. as long as your creation has a 'Summery' theme... I can't wait to see all your wonderful creations! :-)

I got my Distress Inks out again for this one and also did some heat embossing... and I'm hoping it looks like a Summer's Day in the meadows!! The paper is Kaisercraft 'Hunt & Gather' which I thought was perfect to go with these lovely butterflies. Our sponsors The Crafty Pad very kindly gave us some images to work with... and I chose 'Butterflies with Verse and Borders' - so I digitally coloured the butterfly images to match the paper and then cut them out.. added some pearls. I used the verse inside.

The sky background was done with cloud template and ink dusters - Memento Ink - Bahamas Blue... Oops! nearly forgot... the gorgeous grass stamps are all from a Inkadinkado 'Meadow' Set... I chose it as part of my prize from Simon Says Stamp a few weeks ago ...

I've decorated inside with Sara Schmutz 'Mist' paper from Design House Digital and added labels.

Not long until the weekend... can't wait until Saturday... my daughter is back from York... she has been away all this week doing research in the Archives for her PhD... 

There hasn't been much on tv apart from the Olympics but... just read that a new series of Who Do You Think You Are should be coming up very soon... I love Autumn TV... hopefully there will be Downton Abbey... and there is a new Series coming to the BBC called The Paradise, set in 1890's Northern England and centred around a Department Store... so that might be worth a look!
