I really felt like doing a vintage card.... and so bought some photos from e-vint. This gorgeous lady is from their Unknown Beauties collection... isn't she lovely?

I've added a Bail to the Genie Stone from my Jewellery Stash... and I've attached the Stone with a Glue Dot... I thought it would be nice idea if it could be taken off ... then just thread a chain or leather cord through and you could wear it as necklace...

Quite a simple card but hope you like it...

Well we have had some sunshine over the last two days. I sat out in the garden for a while yesterday and it was lovely... the Day Lilies are just coming out.. and the Geraniums and Carnations all look lovely... all the shrubs and bushes are SO huge with all the rain... it's a bit like Jack and the Beanstalk.. and of course the weeds are huge too!!
I've just had yummy pizza and now I'm going to read some of my book on Anne Boleyn!

MAWTT Challenge 156 - 'Celebration - Pink, Pearl and Pretty'

Good Morning! ... hope you are all doing ok.. Big Hugs to those of you that are not feeling too well ...I know a lot of horrid viruses are doing the rounds again! so I hope you feel better very soon!!  it's  time for a new Challenge over at

and the lovely Mau is our hostess this week and she has chosen the fab theme of...

'Celebration - Pink, Pearl and Pretty'

So we want to see creations made for a Special Celebration and with a Pink Theme... and some Pearls... and of course it has to be Pretty!!  it doesn't have to be a card... you could make a Tag, Gift Box etc... as long as it follows our theme! This challenge will also run for a fortnight... so closing date is 8pm BST - 1st August 2012.

As the theme is Pink and Celebration.. I thought I would do an 18th Birthday 'Girlie Girl' Card! Looking at it now - it's a bit Loud!! LOL - very Barbara Cartland !! 

The Feathers drove me nuts!!! LOL - they seemed to get static in them.. I kept trying to get them to calm down so I could arrange them to look nice!!! The lovely roses were a Birthday gift from Mau - thanks hun! The little white flowers, lace and pearl stems are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The handbag charm, the pink pearls, the little white hearts and bows are from My Crafty Heart. The Feathers have been in my stash for years and can't remember where they were from!! Sentiment was made on computer. Now there is going to be a huge gap because Mr. Blogger says so!!!!

Image is Hannah Lynn's 'Forever Rose' from Crafts and Me and I really enjoyed colouring her!  I've used Promarkers and Flexmarkers. Lots of Icicle Stickles on the Background and on the Crystal Ball thingy!! 

Wanted to try and show the sparkle.. as it doesn't show up at all in the other photos... not sure if you can see.. but I used a pin to put some stickle bits on the iris of her eye!!

My Crafty Heart DT Card - New Baby...

Hello! Hope you are all having a nice weekend! Thank you for your kind wishes re. my dad... he is doing ok except for a very painful shoulder which we think may have happened when he had the seizure. So sleep has been a bit disturbed. But managed to grab some quality sleep last night and feel a bit better today. So... thought I would post this card that I made for My Crafty Heart....

I've coloured little Henry and his mum with Promarkers Cool Greys and a touch of Blossom on the ears and nose. I'm really not keen on brown mice!! don't ask me why... brown bears are ok but mice... I prefer them to be grey or white!! LOL I know I'm doing a lot of paper-piecing lately but I really love that you can tone it so well using the papers... it really is 'My Crafty Passion' at the moment and so I am entering this into the Sir Stampalot Challenge!!!

This image reminds me of when you are a proud mum taking your new baby to the Park... I think this is a Silver Cross Pram - top notch suspension!!! LOL 

Blogger is being a B****r  again!!! I apologise for the huge gaps... I've tried everything to correct it and I'm not starting again from scratch.... and what is with Blogger when you add a link now... it jumps up to the top of the page every time and you have to scroll down after every link you do... Very annoying!!! Now I'm getting a pink band saying an error occured...I'm not clicking on 'ignore warning'  - I am just completely ignoring it and hey... it takes the hint and goes away!!!! ROFL... I actually looked at Word Press last night... when I get time I might try it out....

Wow! it's not raining today!!! my daughter has gone to Tatton Park to see Open Air Shakespeare Play Henry V. They are taking a picnic... so fingers crossed that it stays dry for them... so many events are having to be cancelled due to the rain!

I'm really sorry for my lack of commenting... I'm hoping to catch up with you in next few days all being well. But just doing this post has made me SO tired... I think I need a lie down... LOL

Also wanted to say I'm sorry I've been absent in Blogland - my dad had a bad seizure on Monday night and has been in hospital. It was really scary and they thought he might have had a stroke also.. he lost his speech and movement for several hours.. but thankfully he has come through it ok... he is home now but seems very tired and so we are all keeping a close eye on him.. he is being referred to a Neurologist for further tests.. but fingers crossed he is ok. 


My mum has been sick today - she is ok - but needs to rest. I think we are all tired and stressed ...hopefully things will settle down soon. I hope you will forgive my lack of commenting.. I will try and visit some of you when I feel able though as I really miss you all !!! and thank you to my MAWTT Teamies for helping out with my DT Commenting!!

My Crafty Heart DT Card - 'All Gold'

Here's a card made with one of the wonderful Whiff of Joy images available at My Crafty Heart.  She is called 'Willow in the Summer Breeze'. I decided to go with an 'All Gold' theme and picked out some gorgeous golden and spice coloured papers from My Mind's Eye 'Nutmeg' Pad.  Oh I do love these papers...

I have loads of Organza Ribbon in my stash which I never use mainly because it scares the heck out of me and I never know what to do with it ... but... as this was the perfect colour... - I looked over the wonderful tutorial that Jules did on ways of using ribbon. I was quite pleased with how it turned out... :-)) 

The frame is a Nellie Snellen Die Cut. 

I've paper-pieced the lovely Willow using paper from the Nutmeg pad. I know that I do loads of paper-piecing but I love how you can make it tone with the whole card. Skin, Hair and Shoes are coloured with Promarkers. I also masked and dusted around the image with Tim Holtz 'Wild Honey' Distress Ink.

Quite a simple card but hope you like it...

I have chosen to use a digital kit called 'Brown Paper Packages' by Karen Funk that I bought from Design House Digital... 

The paper is 'White Winter' and I've also used some of the elements from the main kit... the branch with berries... the sprinkling of snow... and of course the sentiments!!

I think this was one of the quickest cards that I've ever made! but I really like it... I've added a Poinsettia from Wild Orchid Crafts... used a gem flower from stash for centre...

I'm feeling pretty drained again due to yet another IBS flare up... so I'm going to try and rest for a couple of days and maybe read my book.... and No! I'm not reading 'that' book !!!... LOL but a factual one about Anne Boleyn!!! 

Sick of all this rain... all the blooming Spiders in Manchester seem to be coming over to my place for shelter!! I was just lying in bed nearly asleep and saw something move out of the corner of my eye... the cheeky blighter was only on my pillow and it was as big as my hand (shudder...) I have to kill them or else I can't sleep... not knowing where they will go next... Ukkkk!!! No more Incy Wincy's pleeeeaase!!!!!

Not long until the weekend... Fingers and Toes crossed for Andy Murray!!! ;-))
